10yr old gives birth hours after complaining of stomach ache at school
A girl of 10 who complained at school of stomach ache gave birth just hours later. She was rushed to hospital in Brazil by teachers and found her to be in the late stages of labour. Although only 7 months pregnant, the girl gave birth normally.
The girl and her baby are being cared for in the hospital's neonatal unit. She told police her stepfather, 40, abused her. He is now accused of rape.
The girl’s mother claimed she had not seen her daughter’s stomach bulge and she had no idea she was pregnant. According to police, the girl's mother said that her daughter started to struggle at school and become more introverted from October last year.
Police in Belo Horizonte, south-east Brazil, said: "The mother alleges that she, along with other family members, hadn't noticed, taking into consideration the child's small frame."
The girl told police that her ex-stepfather would threaten to kill her mother and brother if she ever told about the abuse. He has been charged with rape of a child and illegal possession of firearms.

Man Catches Wife Sleeping With His Own Blood Brother
Ojo Owoeye, a middle-aged timber contractor, has told a customary court sitting in Akoko, Ondo state that he caught his wife, Mrs Bola Owoeye having sex with his brother.
The husband said that he reported his wife and his younger brother to his mother-in-law , but the latter pacified him. His younger brother has also denied having extra marital affairs with his wife.
Ojo told the court saying, "My Lord, there was a time I cam home from a journey around 9pm and met my wife naked with only her wrapper around her chest, sitting on my brother's lap.
He also told the court that at a time he had to destroy his wife's mobile phone when he discovered that she often receives calls from other men. The court has since dissolved the union based on the husband's accusations.
Mentally Challenged Patients Attack Doctors At Psychiatric Hospital Yaba
Doctors at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba have deserted their post over recurrent attacks from mentally challenged patients at the hospital. The psychiatrists who have suffered diverse forms of injuries from violent attacks of their patients are currently on strike to push for an increase in security personnel within the establishment.
The President, Association of Resident Doctors of the hospital, Dr. Jeje Oyetayo, said that doctors had to embark on an indefinite strike after the last attack on two female doctors at the outpatient unit of the hospital in June.
She said, ''Patients have attacked doctors severally at the hospital and we don’t have trained security personnel to address this. But the last one was on the 5th of June, two female doctors were attacked such that consultants had to come and save them. The patient took an iron rod and started running around with it and there were no security officials. Patients get violent occasionally but the norm is that there should be trained personnel that can disarm them'', she said.
Boy 10, Girl 8, Caught Having Sex In Ajegunle
Two families resident in the Ajegunle area of Lagos state have rained unprintable curses on themselves after a 10-year-old boy was caught by his father having carnal knowledge of an eight-year-old girl of the other family.
It is said that the children were playing hide and seek when the boy, 10, invited the girl, 8 into their apartment on Idewu street and told her to pull her clothes so that they ‘would do it.’
They climbed his father’s bed and were on it when the father, a commercial mini-bus driver, identified as David Udoh opened the door and caught the two kids pants down. Mr Udoh was said to have dragged them outside before he raised the alarm.
Anna’s mother, Sarah, was said to have hollered that the boy has taught her daughter a bad thing.
The woman claimed that her daughter is too small to know what sex is all about. Udoh on his part claimed that his son was innocent also.
The two kids were asked what transpired and the girl said, “It was the boy that told her to remove her clothes, including undies so that we could do it. I told him no and he pushed me to the bed and I pulled my clothes. He removed my pant.”
One of their co-tenants, John Ukaegbu appealed to the two families not to quarrel over the incident since both kids are minors.
Ukaegbu advised: “Probably you parents did not allow your children to sleep before performing the adult show. Children of nowadays are very wise. Allow them to sleep first if not, you are the people teaching them immorality. Sex should be a hidden thing,” he said.
The two kids were flogged six lashes each before they were told to go and sleep in their respective apartments. They both promised not to commit such an act again.

Nigerians Top Sex Traffic Workers In The UK
Nigerians, Albanians, and Romanians have topped the list of countries that traffic sex workers to the United Kingdom, the Home Office has revealed after 11 people were sentenced on Thursday for trafficking sex workers.
According to a report by Thomson Reuters Foundation, up to 13,000 victims of modern slavery in Britain are forced to work in factories and farms, sold for sex in brothels or kept in domestic servitude, among other forms of slavery, according to the Home Office (interior ministry). Most come from Albania, Nigeria and Romania.

The President said, “I thank you most sincerely for fulfilling the tradition of greetings for whoever occupies this place. I thank you very much for your loyalty to the country, as represented by our institutions and to the system.
“Today, during and immediately after the prayers, I think I was bombarded by the youths who almost overwhelmed the security, and I had to hold tight to my gown to get to my car.
“I was advised to enter the car from the ADC side and I refused. I went across trying to wave my hand to the wild youths who wanted to see me.
“On an occasion like this, it shows that after what happened to President Ronald Reagan of the USA, it is only God Almighty that protects leaders because in a mob like this, anybody with a sharp knife can get access and do a lot of damage.
“So, all the policemen that were deployed and soldiers since six o’ clock in the morning, before I came out two hours later in the rains, cannot protect you, only God protects. I hope God will continue to protect us,” he said.

Dasuki still under house arrest, may be prosecuted
Immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) may be charged to court for alleged corruption, security sources said last night in Abuja where he has remained under house arrest since Thursday when operatives of the Department of State Services besieged his Abuja residence.
Dasuki, we gathered was not allowed to go for the Eid al Fitr prayers Friday. Nine vehicles were said to have been impounded from his house.
A source close to DSS who confirmed that his passport has also been siezed said that “they are gathering information for a possible court action.”
The security sources said that Dasuki was aggrieved that he was not allowed to join other Muslim faithful for the Eid Prayers, marking the end of Ramadan fasting was aggrieved.
It was gathered that Dasuki could challenge the action by seeking legal redress in order to enforce his fundamental human rights in the days ahead.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the $15 million seized by South Africa has been returned after legal and diplomatic processes initiated by the former National Security Adviser.
The South African government seized the cash meant for the purchase of arms, last year.
It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was forced to resort to the alternative market to obtain arms when western powers blocked every access to the formal international arms market.

Bloody Eid-el-Fitri in Benue , Yobe as 35 killed by explosion, gunmen
It was a bloody Eid-el-Fitri celebrations in Benue state, and Damaturu the Yobe state following the killing of about 35 persons including a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart and elder statesman, Chief Atoza Ihindan, in Katsina/Ala local government area of the state.
In Damaturu the Yobe state capital the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, was marred by bomb explosion in two locations in the heart of the troubled North-East state. The explosions which went off at the phase one secretariat and the Gwange-sabon Pegi by cemetery road left 15 people dead, over 40 injured thwarting the festivity in the town.

The streets of Damaturu were immediately deserted as the early morning blast forced security operatives to adjust the restriction of movement from 6pm to 2pm.
The early morning twin blast, according to the State Commissioner of Police Markus Danladi, claimed 13 lives and was masterminded by female bombers.
The Medical Director of the Damaturu specialist hospital, Dr Adamu Fika said 15 people died in the blast as 41 others sustained various degrees of injury.
Although the early bomb blast could not affect Eid-prayers as hundreds of Muslim worshippers attended the prayers at various locations to thank Allah for the success of the Ramadan fast.
The Chief of Army Staff, Major general Tukur Yusuf Buratai joined the State Governor and some government officials and military personnel in the Eid prayer held at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre.
Shortly after the prayer, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam appreciated the coming of the Army chief saying he has a lot ahead of him in maintaining peace in the troubled area.
Buratai on his part said he was in the state to celebrate the sallah with troops on ground saying his coming here was strategic.
He also said it would equally stimulate military/civil relationship and boost the morale of the troops, adding that the visit will afford him the opportunity to assess the equipment on ground and to assess the level of the threat posed by the Boko Haram militants.
While in the State, the COAS held discussions with officers and men on ground with a view to strategising in the fight against the insurgency.
In Benue state it was a bloody Eid-el-Fitri celebrations , following the killing of about 20 persons including a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart and an elder statesman, Chief Atoza Ihindan, in Katsina/Ala local government area of the state.
Saturday Vanguard learned from a source that the septuagenarian and Second Republic lawmaker was waylaid and gunned down Friday morning in Katsina/Ala town by some unidentified persons while inspecting ongoing work on the perimeter fence he was constructing round his piece of land.
According to the source, “the three armed men riding on a motorbike, waylaid Chief Ihindan at his construction site in Katsina/Ala town on Friday morning around 10am.
“They stormed the place in a commando style, though, the old man had with him, his aide and a police escort who after noticing the armed men, made desperate effort to defend Chief Ihinda, but he was overpowered by the well armed men who had superior fire power.
“They succeeded in killing the old man after shooting his police escort who was seriously injured and in critical condition at a public hospital in Katsina/Ala at the moment.”
“After successfully executing their assignment, the gang fled and the suspicion is that it was that same gang or members of the same group of bandits that raided a beer parlor at a market square in Tor Donga, last night, where 12 persons including a woman, who was the attendant and her one year old baby were killed on the spot.
“After raiding and killing their victims at the drinking spot, the gang sped off on their motorbike and continued shooting indiscriminately at any person they came across. This led to the killing of another seven persons including a teacher in one of the local schools in the community.”
