I will be Petroleum Minister -- President Buhari


Addressing some selected reporters in New York on Tuesday, the President said he would personally head the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in the new cabinet. His words;
“I will remain Minister of Petroleum.
“I will appoint a Minister of State for Petroleum”.

Do not abuse or insult Buhari - PDP tells Nigerians

PDP has called on all Nigerians to show some respect to the office of the President. In their independence message to Nigerians, the party said, "The PDP urges all citizens to have full respect for the office and person of the symbol of the leadership of our great country, the President. The President can be constructively criticized, but under no circumstance should he be abused or insulted in any way and under any guise whatsoever. On this note therefore, we expect those around our dear President to be cautious and desist from actions and utterances that tend to set him up for public ridicule”.

Blogger arrested on the order of Gov. Amosun released from police custody



The Chief Magistrate Anthony Araba of the Magistrate court in Isabo, Abeokuta today finally signed the bail bond of the arraigned blogger, Emmanuel Ojo Adediran, who was arrested over the weekend over a Facebook post alleging that governor Amosun's wife was involved in money laundering in London. 

At around 3:00pm, Ojo was released from the remand prison to his team of lawyers.

Some weeks ago, two actresses in the Yoruba movie industry, Kenny George and Awele Odita were in the news over alleged affair with a top shot of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos called Koko Zaria.

It was reported that Awele accused Kenny of dating her man, which the latter denied. Kenny claimed that the acclaimed ‘Right Man’ of another NURTW top shot, MC Oluomo, was just only a friend, who featured in her movie.

Bola Ogunbiyi, President, Nigerian Association of Dermatology, has advised Nigerians against the use of skin lightening cream popularly known as `toning cream’, saying it is harmful to our health.
 
Ogunbiyi gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.

He said that the application of such creams to the skin has adverse effect on the internal organs.
 
She explained that whenever such cream is applied on the skin it absorbed into the body damaging the internal organs like the pancreas and adrenal organs, among others.
