National Assembly Members to leave office with 109 SUVs, 360 Toyota Camry

The cars, 109 Prado Landcrusiers for Senators and 360 Toyota Camry 2011 model, are supposed to be returned to management of the National Assembly before the week runs out but according to an agreement reached with the National Assembly management, the Senators and the House of Reps members will pay 30% of the original cost of the cars so that those interested can keep the cars. The 30% will be deducted from their severance pay.
"The cars have been used for four years, so this valuation has taken cognizance of the years of depreciation. The vehicles are not taken away free of charge and as a matter of fact, it is optional. A lawmaker who does not want to go with the vehicle will submit it to the National Assembly and it will be so documented. The deduction will be done from their severance package at source, which makes it easier. It is a practice that has been on over the years".
“The loans were obtained for the lawmakers through the banks where their salary accounts are domiciled, hence the bankers usually deduct certain percentage agreed upon from their monthly payments to service the car, housing and furniture loans.”he said
“I don’t know what the amount will be; but I know that the cars are not for free. The management of the National Assembly will work it out and communicate to members accordingly”, he said.Credit: Punch

The recent development in their love affair is that finally the River State born screen diva is set to walk down the aisle.
During a recent interview, her host noticed she was wearing a ring on her engagement ring finger and asked her if she was engaged, the actress hesitated and looked at her ring finger and laughed, trying to avoid answering the question.

I was addicted to Alaba's bend-down-select jeans -Tonto Dikeh
Now, she wears and flaunts all sorts of designers dresses, shoes and accessories, but Tonto Dikeh, wants her fans to know that once upon a time all she had was second hand clothes from the popular Alaba, Lagos market.
As controversial as many may think the singer and actress is, she does have her subtle side and she laid it on the line for her fans and followers to see on Instagram.
The River state born diva's post reads; “Growing up life was not easy, not after I lost my mom at the age of three. Though I thank my step mom for keeping up with my rudeness and stubbornness.
Sometimes, I felt like killing myself but God saw me through that stage in my life and sometimes I sit and ask God why me?
At the age of twenty, I said to myself `I wouldn’t ask my dad for money- I wanted to be independent. I tried traveling to UK but I got refused at Nigerian Embassy, not because my documents were not complete but because I didn’t have the connection to pass through” she stated
“University life was so hard for me, handouts I could not afford, I begged from hand to mouth just to eat! Sometimes, I considered going back to my dad but ego and pride wouldn’t let me.
Then, all my jeans were Alaba bend-down-select. If the jeans was longer than me I would cut it to my size to make it look rugged! If I asked friends for a favour, before they helped they would ask me to do something for them in return, like cleaning their rooms, or helping with course work” she added.
She then went on to advise her fans never to give up in their struggle to make it in life. For sometime now, Tonto has been engaging in a soft kind of motivational talks on social media, showing people there might be another side to the controversial figure we all hate to love.
I’M TRAINING MY CHILDREN TO BE TAEKWONDO FIGHTERS LIKE MYSELF—FUNSHO ADEOLU
Those who are close to Nollywood actor, Funsho Adeolu, claim he is an easy-going and lovable person. They even further said he is one person that can bow to greet someone despite being a star. But what many may not know about him is that he is into sport.
If you guess that he is into football, then you are wrong because the huge actor is into Taekwondo.
Funsho, who lost his father some months ago, told Punch in a chat that he got to the level of one of the most disciplined belt holders in the sport.
"My father owned a sports store in the National Stadium and I still remain the only child of my father that is still into sports. My elder sister was a sprinter in school but I was not into the normal sport.
"My father trained me in virtually every sport but I decided to be a Taekwondo fighter and I got to the level of a Black Belt Second Dan. I do not pray anyone accost me because I am not supposed to be a fighter; I am only meant to defend myself.
"We don’t fight anyhow when you have a black belt because a lot of effort was put into training to attain such feat. We are trained to be mature people and we do not get angry anyhow. My sons too are training to become Taekwondo fighters as well," he said.
