The wedding of the latest celebrity couple, Gbenro Ajibade and Osas was the talk of the town over the weekend as the two lovebirds gathered different stars from all genres of entertainment industry in the country under one umbrella when they exchanged marital vows.

Reassuring his wife of the promises he made to her at the altar; before God and man, the excited husband, took to Instagram to pen down more promising and lovely words to his Mrs.

"Osahrenmen Martha Ajibade, I promise to love and care for you, and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love.

“I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving. I promise to try to be on time. I promise to grow into the man that you deserve. I promise to be a good father to our children. But most of all, I promise to be a true and loyal friend to you from now till the end of my days. I love you,” he wrote.

PASTOR DISGRACED AFTER WOMEN STORM HIS WEDDING CLAIMING TO BE MARRIED TO HIM

Drama ensued at the NPC Church in Valley Road in Kenya recently after some women stormed the church while the wedding ceremony of a pastor in the church, Pastor John Waituha, was ongoing.

According to report, the women claimed they were legally married to the Pastor and even showed children which they said they had for the pastor. Pastor John broke down in tears while the women were shouting in the church. The police was called in to bring the situation under control.

The wedding however went on after the women left the church saying their mission to expose the pastor was accomplished. See photos below...

I DID NOT BEAT MY WIFE IN LONDON - GABRIEL SUSWAM

Immediate past former governor of Benue State, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, has denied reports that he battered his wife in London, and was briefly arrested and detained by the police. The former governor also denied that his wife, Yemisi, looted the state treasury while he was governor of the state.

Suswam, in a statement personally signed by him, described the reports, which went viral weekend, as the handiwork of elements bent on tarnishing his image for political reasons.

According to an online medium, the former governor was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Officers, for battering his wife. He was allegedly booked into the London
detention centre for several hours before a judge set a £5,000 bail bond, which he met, before he was released.

However, describing the report as fictitious, Suswam denied ever going to London with his wife, saying he had been in Germany on vacation with her. He also challenged authors of the said report to name the street and address of his said house in London.
He said:

“This fictitious report about the incident involving me in London is full of red herring because the allegations are false, unless the authors still have plans to later inform the public that it was a home video.

Since I and my beloved wife left the shores of Nigeria, we have never been to London. Unknown to the author of mischief, I was in Germany on a private trip with my wife at the material time. So where did the author of the said report and his fairy tale sources get their information from that I was arrested in London, when I was actually in Germany with my wife on vacation?

I also wish to ask the masterminds of this outlandish incident to disclose the street and the number of my London house, where the alleged assault took place as every house in London has identity.”

On the claim that Yemisi’s trauma was as a result of the overbearing influence of her mistress, one Shidoo, Suswam said the imaginary mistress “exists only in the figment of the authors’ imagination.”

The former governor also refuted another reports alleging that his wife and her associates drove in two large trucks to Benue State Liaison Office in Abuja, with the intent to cart away expensive furnishings.

Dead Man Withdraws N4.3m From His Bank Account

A young medical doctor who died in a motor accident on the way to his wedding on October 10, 2013 withdrew about N4.3m from his own account in Union Bank in Kaduna few weeks after his death? Information from the bank indicated that the dead man used the ATM card to make the withdrawals.

A new twist emerged when the dead man applied for an ATM card from his bank and used it to clear his account.

A family source said, “When Chidiebere died, we discovered that his mobile telephone num­ber had been blocked. We were surprised because no member of our family told the GSM service provider that Chidiebere had died. So, we took up the matter and it took some time before the line was reactivated.

“We got the shock of our lives after re­activating the line. As soon as we switched on the phone, we began to receive alerts of withdrawals from his account. All the withdrawals were made after he had died and had been buried. During his life time, he did not use ATM cards but in death, he applied for ATM card from the bank in Kaduna and started withdrawing all the money in his account.

Worse still, Chidie­bere was not the owner of all the money in the account. One of his brothers who went abroad in search of greener pastures was sending money to Chidiebere to keep for him. Now, the brother is back and Chidie­bere’s corpse had withdrawn all the money as the bank wants us to believe.”

It was learnt that the family has con­tacted the bank on the strange withdrawals but it has been prevaricating over the issue.

Saturday Sun had, on November 16, 2013, published the pathetic story of Dr Chidiebere Emmanuel Nwanja, who died on the way to Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State to con­tract marriage with his sweet heart, Miss Celina Uzor.

According to the report, “Their tradi­tional marriage rite otherwise called Ig­bankwu was fixed for Monday, October 14, 2013 while the white wedding was billed for Tuesday, October 15 at the Pres­byterian Church, Okposi Okwu.

“On October 10, Chidiebere left Kadu­na where he was practising for his home­town for the marriage ceremony. He was in company with his younger brother, Kel­echi Nwanja and Mr Ifeanyi, an indigene of Onicha Igboeze, who was supposed to play the role of best man. While they jour­neyed, the bride and groom kept in touch via telephone. In fact, Celina and about seven of her friends, theasebi girls, were already in town putting finishing touches to the arrangement.

“The journey was smooth until they got to Udi in Enugu. There, the unexpected happened. They had a fatal accident in which the groom and his best man died on the spot. Only Kelechi survived but he sus­tained serious injuries.

“Narrating the tragedy that befell the family, Chidiebere’s elder brother, Mr Ndubuisi Nwanja, in an emotion laden voice, said:

‘When I got the information that my brother was involved in an acci­dent, I rushed to the place but before I got there, the police had already been there. They took Kelechi to Annunciation Hos­pital, a Catholic hospital, in Emene, Enugu and deposited the corpses of Chidiebere and Ifeanyi at a mortuary in Udi because the accident happened in Udi, at the bypass before Four – Corner. The following day we went to the hospital to see the corpses.’

“He added that the family committed the resources already earmarked for the marriage to the burial of the young medi­cal doctor.

‘The family met and decided to bury him immediately; we did not want to keep the corpse in the mortuary. So, we went to the mortuary, took the corpse and buried. The wake keep held on October 14 while the burial took place on October 15. His traditional marriage was supposed to hold on October 14 while the church wed­ding would take place on October 15, the day he was eventually buried. We decided to use the things he bought for the tradi­tional marriage and Church wedding for his burial. He had already bought drinks and hired chairs, tables, canopies and mu­sical groups and we decided to use these things he had paid for to bury him.’

The report disclosed that the tale as­sumed a new dimension on October 18 when the family went to the accident site to retrieve the car or what was left of it and personal effects.

A family source said in the report, ‘We tried to bring the car out of the place it fell into but we could not. So, we decided to axe the car into pieces there. While we were at it, a commercial bus driver from Udi who operates between Enugu and Port Harcourt saw us and parked his ve­hicle. He asked us if we were the relation of the doctor and we told him everything. He said that he was the person that helped the police to bring the doctor out of the car but, unfortunately, he was already dead.

He said that he was the one that removed his clothes and while removing the clothes he saw a huge sum of money that he was coming back with and he handed every­thing over to the police. But the police did not even make mention of the money, let alone release it to us. They only gave us the luggage he was coming back with. They didn’t tell us that there was any mon­ey involved.’

The report added that the family had gone to the police station at Udi with a view to recovering the money to no avail, as policemen there claimed to be unaware of the money.

Oyinbo mother, who abandoned baby girl on side of Maryland road, arrested

The mother of a baby girl found apparently abandoned on the side of a Maryland road was arrested yesterday evening, accused of taking the infant out of her car and leaving her there.

Sandra Clara McClary was charged with child neglect and reckless endangerment, Anne Arundel County police said in a statement this evening.

The woman had called police after they had posted the baby's photo on social media, Lt. T.J. Smith of the Anne Arundel County Police said at a news conference earlier yesterday.

The woman, who was verified as the baby's mother, initially told investigators the little girl's father was supposed to have her, but neither of them knew where the child was, police said.

Investigators later determined that the mother had allegedly had the girl with her in a vehicle in Pasadena, but removed the child from the vehicle and left her on the side of the road, police said.

The incident began just before midnight Saturday, when officers responded to a report of an abandoned child on the side of a road, the police department said on its Facebook page Sunday morning.
Officers found a baby girl in a car seat carrier. Police said the baby was 2 or 3 months old.

"Scuff marks on the carrier and other debris indicate that the carrier may have fell off of a moving vehicle," the police wrote in the post.

The child was taken to a hospital to be treated for dehydration, police said.

The baby was in good condition Sunday, Smith said at the news conference, adding that the baby was in the custody of the Department of Social Services.

The investigation is ongoing, police said this afternoon. The police department is working with the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office.

Woman asks boyfriend to castrate himself for fear of vomiting during pregnancy

The partner of a woman who is so terrified of vomiting that she has given up the chance of parenthood at 27 has had a vasectomy so he can continue to be with her.

Vicky Nash's fear of vomiting is so debilitating that she hasn't had a proper meal in 15 years and weighs less than seven stone, despite being 5'6 inches tall. Before she was prescribed dietary supplements by her doctor, she weighed 31kg.

Her fear, known as emetophobia, means that she obsessively cleans her home to rid it of germs that could make her sick and washes her hands thirty times a day.

But perhaps the most significant impact is that she has already given up on the chance to ever become a mother because she is so terrified of morning sickness.

She met her current partner Dave Robinson, 40, through her former husband Danny Howard, when they split with in 2013, partly due to the fact he wanted children.

And Dave soon realised the impact it would have on their lives after a condom split, which sent Vicky into a total panic as she despaired over the idea of morning sickness or even taking the morning after pill.

As she was lying on the floor trying to build up the courage to swallow the pill which she feared may trigger a gag reflex, Dave pledged to have a vasectomy.

Vicky said: 'At first I tried to talk him out of it, then I tried to push him away but he was determined and I gave in. We both knew it was sensible if we wanted to be together.'

Dave, who is the last male Robinson in his family, said: 'I realise I've given up the chance to have children if Vicky and I split but I don't think that's ever going to happen. 'I don't want to be without her.'

Vicky also suffers from fibromyalgia - a condition that puts the sufferer in constant pain but doctors can't explain why.

On top of that, she finds it difficult to leave the house because of her agoraphobia, a fear of going outside which meant she couldn't even go and see her father in the days before he died.

Dave has now given up his job as a security guard to become her full-time carer, yet another sacrifice he has had to make for love.

He must also learn to live in a super-hygenic house, wiping down every surface and only bringing meat inside if it is stored in the freezer.

Vicky was just 11 when she was diagnosed with the disease after nearly choking on her own vomit. It came at a difficult time after being sexually abused by a family friend and as her parents got divorced.

The condition was so serious that she was allowed to leave school at 14 and she has made numerous attempts to overcome it, trying hypnotherapy, acupuncture and even paying £1,000 for over-the-phone counselling from specialists in America.

However, she fears she will never conquer the disease as she watches friends move on with their lives and start families.

Vicky even said she would not be a good mother in her current condition, admitting she would worry too much about them falling ill and being sick.

Police to investigate Deputy Senate President, Ekweremadu over alleged forged Senate rules

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase,on  Sunday summoned the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, over alleged forgery of the Senate Rules on election of its principal officers,the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said.

The PDP said Ekweremadu is expected to appear before a team of investigators at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Monday (today).

It said the letter inviting the deputy senate president was dated July 1, 2015 and was signed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of criminal investigation at the FHQ.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, said this at a press briefing in Abuja on Sunday.

The Force Headquarters has however said that he did not single out Ekweremadu for investigation.
The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Shogunle, explained that the investigation was not about an individual, rather, the police are investigating a petition by a senator alleging forgery of the Senate rules and standing orders.

Shogunle said the case was being handled by the Force Criminal Investigation Department.

He said, “In line with the resolve of the police leadership to gather evidence, the FCID sent a letter to the Senate clerk requesting a meeting with principal officers. The police didn’t send a letter to the deputy senate president, but to the clerk.

“What we did was to write to the clerk to facilitate a meeting with some of the senators to verify the allegations that were made, the police have respect for democratic values; but the clerk is yet to respond to the letter.

“No invitation was sent to the deputy senate president. It’s not about an individual, but about those that should be in the know of the senate rules and standing orders. The investigation is being led by the DIG, FCID.”

The 'forged rule' was said to have been used for the election of the leadership of the 8th Senate, in which Bukola Saraki emerged as the Senate President and Ekweremadu the deputy.

Saraki is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, while Ekweremadu is of the minority PDP.
Metuh however alleged that the invitation to Ekweremadu was a ploy to arrest and detain him by the APC-led Federal Government.

He insisted at the Sunday briefing that Ekweremadu would be detained at the FHQ when he showed up on Monday (today).

The PDP spokesman said the national leadership of the APC had not been happy with the election of Ekweremadu as the deputy senate president and that all the attempts allegedly made to let him resign by the ruling party had failed, hence the alleged plan to use the police to intimidate him.

Metuh said, “We are aware that some APC senators opposed to the emergence of Senators Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu as senate president and deputy senate president respectively met last week and concocted a petition, accusing the deputy senate president of altering the Senate Rules on the process of election of the presiding officers, upon which the police via a letter dated July 1, 2015 and signed by the Deputy Inspector General in charge of criminal investigation at the Force Headquarters has invited him to appear tomorrow (today), Monday, July 6, 2015 where he will be detained and put under pressure.”
He said neither Ekweremadu nor any other senator-elect, prior to the inauguration of the Senate and the election of presiding officers, could have been involved in the process of producing the 2015 Standing Rules of the Senate.

The Senate Standing Rules is strictly done by the bureaucracy under the Clerk to the National Assembly.

He said, “Senator Ekweremadu was not in any way involved in the process other than being nominated for the position of the deputy senate president and could not have been privy to the secret ballot procedure adopted by the National Assembly bureaucracy, which has been widely adjudged as transparent and credible,” Metuh explained.

“Apparently to ensure that the agenda is given an official stamp, the Inspector General of Police, acting on instructions, has invited the deputy senate president with a view to arresting him over phantom charges as a build up to incarcerate him, create a vacuum in the Senate and pave way for the imposition of an APC preferred senator to take over his position.”

Metuh said that the petition by the aggrieved senators to the police lacked merit.

Metuh also said the PDP had information that instructions had been passed to certain officials at the Independent National Electoral Commission to alter some electoral documents and records in order to create the impression that Ekweremadu did not file proper documents for the general elections in order to eventually pave way for his removal.

“In line with the above plot, the APC has been having secret meetings with some judges and lawyers to procure injunctions to prevent Ekweremadu from playing his role as the deputy senate president,” he further alleged.

The PDP spokesman said that part of the plot was a conspiracy to tarnish Ekweremadu’s image and open him to public ridicule.

He alleged that on Monday last week, some APC leaders met in Abuja to perfect a plot to blackmail the deputy senate president by planting bizarre publications against him in the media.

Metuh stated that “the government and APC leaders should be held responsible should any harm come upon the deputy senate president or any of our party leaders for that matter.”

He said, “We state this because information available to us indicates that there are also plans to compromise security around the deputy senate president to make him vulnerable and open for sponsored violent attacks.

“We do hope that the era of political assassination is not about to return to Nigeria and that our nation will not descend into a draconian regime where a strike force is created to hunt key opposition figures.”

He said the PDP would
“not consider it a mere coincidence if our key leaders suddenly become victims of terror attacks or are suddenly killed by armed robbers.”

“This is especially as we are aware that the APC has even gone to the ridiculous extent of trailing key PDP leaders and bugging their telephone lines,” he said.

The National Publicity Secretary of the  the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement on Sunday, that it had nothing to do with the decision of the police to invite Ekweremadu.
